I was born Thomas Smith Dabney II in Mobile, AL on the early summer morning of July 30, 1981. I acquired my nickname from my wonderful parents while I was still in diapers dancing around to music. I attended Mobile Christian School from the time I was four years old until I graduated from high school in the Spring of 1999. I contribute my love for the arts to my greatest influence growing up, my Great Aunt Dot. She saw in me a growing passion in art during trips to visit her while I was a young boy and sailing in New Orleans where she spent many of her years as a prominent figure in the theater as well as the art scene in general. She enrolled me in a few children\'s art classes at a local studio where I spent two weeks one summer with her creating what would later become my livelihood. I hope she knows how much she has done for me and she knows I love her and miss her so much to this very day and still talk about her wishing she were still here. I know she is looking down on me, smiling with all of my grandparents, helping guide me down the path which she helped lay the first bricks. My first experience with the theater began in high school with the Junior/Senior play which I was cast in for both years. I moved to Charleston, SC in the Fall of 1999 to attend the College of Charleston. I began as a computer science major, but I was still holding on to my desires to impact the world with my creativity. Midway through my Junior year at the college, I decided to switch majors to Theater with a focus in set design, production, and construction. There I was well accepted to the program and was quickly intertwined with the fellow students and faculty. I designed for two Center Stage shows, No Exit and W;t, and worked on many others as well. I also designed for the theater\'s mainstage production for Smash!. During my time I was cast in two mainstage productions, The Country Wife and The Madwoman of Chaillot. After graduating from the college in the spring of 2004, I started work as the Production Manager for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra where I worked for two seasons. Still yearning to dive more into his creative side, I took a job with Charleston Architectural Glass Studios where I was a Master Craftsman for close to 4 years. My work can be seen all around the Charleston area in residential and commercial projects. There are also works commissioned all across the country as well as some internationally. After my five year break from the theater, I was cast in two of Footlight Playhouse\'s productions, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Sordid Lives. The rest has been a roller coaster of fun and experience.....
Just so you all know, I am developing this website and my computer programming days are slowly coming back to me, so it’s a work in progress. Please bear with me, I should have it up and running in a full manner soon….I hope!
